Would covering the carpet in my room help prevent dust mites?
Posted by admin on February 26th, 2010

I’ve been getting clogged sinuses recently and I’m pretty sure it from the dust mites in my room.
I’ve bought an air filter and covered all my bedding with dust mites covers and that’s helped a lot, but I was wondering if I should deal with my carpet as well?
My room is small, about 10′x12′, and the carpet is thin and only about 5 years old.
I was wondering if it was possible to cover the carpet with linoleum as opposed to taking everything out of my room, ripping up the carpet, then laying the linoleum.

building down. (that was in November) I have not been bitten since and neither has anyone else (plus I washed everything).Yesterday morning my daughter was laying down on the floor (air mattress) and she got bitten pretty bad on the back (4-5 bites) one on her thigh also. Is there anything else besides bed bugs that bite that bad? Could they possibly have come back? He used Suspend SC and that stuff was powerful. It keeps killing up to 6 mos. I didn’ get any bites and this morning she didn’t neither. Could it be dust mites? Do they bite like that?

I don’t want him on steroids, and one drug the vet wanted him on cost .00 a pill which because he’s 85lbs he needed 2 a day. I have him on a great diet, grass is frozen now, but there is always dust mites in the house. His feet are so bad and sore, we have tried socks and boots but of course he just chews them off. I’m not really asking a question, just wish the vets would not charge so much for the one pill I know works.

dust MITES in your bed?
Posted by admin on November 18th, 2009

Ok, I just read a article about dust mites and now I’m all disgusted and want to wash all my pillow cases and bedspreads. I know they can’t physcially harm you except allergy wise but it still sounds so gross, millions of bugs crawling all over you while your sleeping? Opinions?
Also I’m told that heat from the dryer can kill millions of them therefore reducing the population in your bed. What could you do about the mattress? Go over it with a iron?

What brand would you recommend? Is it even worth getting one?
