This is counter intuitive, but my family won’t stop pestering me about the bed bug treatment I ordered. I’m trying to do well for these people, but they keep saying that spraying chemicals on the box spring/bed frame and in the dresser chests will contaminate clothing and be toxic to them–and potentially poison or kill them.
Isn’t it a little counter intuitive to think that a bed bug treatment would be harmful to humans? Do they have a point?

I had bed bugs since a year ago. i did not notice them since july of 2010. I tried cleaning the house by sweeping, watching sheets and spraying chemicals but they are still there. i kill like 50 everyday and they don’t seem to decrease numbers. i believe they are sucking at least a liter of my blood every week . I called the bug exterminator and after spraying chemicals he told me not to stay in the house for 3 days until the chemical effect is done. i waited in my friends house for three days and when i return they are still some left. i bought new mattress, bed sheets and pillows and they still there. man, why aren’t they disappearing. one night in the middle of the night i found 5- 10 of them in my legs sucking my blood. i got up and seek to stay in my friends house. i mean they are found in my bed room living room and kitchen. What? do i have to now move out to different apartment for them to get off my house? Any bed bugs experts out there. man they are the worst bugs in the world. i wished i had mice or roaches instead of them. can you please give me advise?

In my home we have 3 beds,( me my brother and my mom) we have a bed bug problem and we don’t know how to get rid of them. I need to find a way to get rid of them without chemicals, bug "bombs", or pesticides. Any suggestions?

yes, ive called my doctor, but she needs to know what kind of pesticides is being sprayed to be able to answer my question.
i’ve tried calling different pest control places, but theyre all closed for the night.
i work in a basement of a building for telemarketing. no windows. they just sprayed before i went to work and didnt tell anyone about it, but word got out somehow so i left because i didnt want to risk being around chemicals unsafe for my unborn baby.
what chemicals would usually be used in this situation? (for bed bugs in an office in a basement)
are they harmful to me? and should i have been informed, as a pregnant worker?
i know i might not be able to get a straight answer due to lack of information on what exact chemical was sprayed, but i was hoping to get some sort of answer in the mean time to settle my mind. thank you.
and ps i asked my boss and he told me to call back in the morning to ask.
please and thank you =)

It is a possibility that it is Pityrosporum ovale which a Professor of Parasitology in Nebraska has suggested. I use Permethrin to keep them off. I need the names of other chemicals that I may use to keep them off temporarily.

- I want to know if bed bugs can get through Vaseline (petroleum jelly).
- If they can’t, I’ll continue to fill the cracks and crevices of my bed with the jelly, to eliminate hiding places.
- If they can get through the jelly, what do you recommend for caulking these places?
(I’ve taken other measures as well, this is just one of many… so please no more tips on washing linen, getting a professional, using chemicals, etc.!)

I am not 100% sure I have them, but I have only had allergies while living in the appartment I do now. (I was watching the Oprah show where they show how long people keep things and find how unsanitary it is and a bell went off about all my allergies to dust)
How do I go about getting rid of dust mites if I do have them? If I vaccume with a HEPA vaccume cleaner that might get rid of some, but otherwise do I have to throw out all my pillows, quilts, duvets and sheets and get all new allergen ones? Are there any chemicals or sprays I can buy to kill them?

A friend of mine is renting a house, and she believes there are bed bugs …no matter how many times she washes her sheets, she still feels bitten all over. Tiny red marks cover her. Rather than chemicals, she is looking for a "natural" solution.

the exterminator just came and he said what he sprayed had 3 chemicals in it and one of them is supposed to bring the bed bug out right away if I have them.
well i have not seen any. does that mean I don’t have them? I am sure I was about 10 of them in 22 days.
How toxic is that thing anyways if anyone knows what I am talking about?
Should I keep on worrying? I feel ashamed to bring people over to my new place.
thanks
he actually did not. He told me it was safe to stay in the place because he is been doing it his whole life and nothing happen to him. I did not believe it so I made sure I opened my windows but thank God 1 hour after I had to go to school and did not sleep in.

My apartment has been treated for bed bugs this morning with liquid spray and white powder all over. How toxic are these chemicals, should I stay somewhere else and how long should I wait before I clean up the mess?
